Postdoctoral Affairs

Lab science

Welcome to the University of Kansas Medical Center Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.  The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is a unit of the Office of Academic Affairs and was established in 2007 to serve the over 100 postdoctoral scholars on the KUMC campus.  In 2014, as part of an ongoing committment to support the success and development of a vibrant and diverse community of postdoctoral scholars at KUMC, the programs and services offered by the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs are being expanded and enhanced.  Working closely with the Postdoctoral Advisory Board and the KUMC Postdoc Society, the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs provides non-research related training designed to enhance the experience of our valued postdoctoral scholars.

The responsibilities of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs include:

  • Provide programming and activities which offer professional development for postdoctoral fellows
  • Coordinate communications, events, and interactions with and among postdoctoral fellows
  • Coordinate the Postdoctoral Advisory Board
  • Maintain a database for all postdoctoral fellows, including records of curriculum vitae, duration of postdoctoral appointments, and placement of postdoctoral fellows after completion of their KUMC training
