In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and Embryo Transfer

Services provided by the facility

• Use superovulated eggs from CD-1 females for IVF unless requested and approved by the facility. 
• Record fresh or thawed sperm viability and motility.
• Transfer two-cell embryos into pseudopregnant recipient females.
• House recipient females and pups to weaning.

Responsibilities of the investigator

1. Provide one male or 2 vials/straws of frozen sperm unless sperm is frozen in the facility.
2. Infected mice are not accepted for rederivation from outside institutions.  If internally infected mice are submitted for rederivation, surrogate females will be housed in LAR’s internal quarantine room and subject to investigator’s per diem.
3. Submit a “service request form”.

Fees for In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer service

• $550 per each IVF effort if investigator provides donor females.
• $800 for each effort if TGIF purchases outbred donor females.
• $1050 for each effort if TGIF purchases inbred donor females.
