Michelle Cochran '93 is the Regional Operations Manager of
Vencare. Operating out of Chicago, she is responsible for
the activities of all the Assistant Administrators in Missouri,
Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
Steve Conover, '83 has been promoted to the position of
Assistant Administrator of Outpatient Services at Vencor
Hospital of Kansas City. Steve is in charge of the Vencare
division and supervises
managers who supply ancillary therapy and services in
respiratory care, occupational therapy, physical therapy,
speech, radiology, and pharmacy to nursing homes and
subacute facilities. Vencare's current emphasis is in furnishing
respiratory care services but will be increasingly
involved in providing the other allied
health services to these facilities.
Theron Cravens, Chad Jackson and Darren Landis all '94
graduates have started their own home care company, RespiServ, Inc.
Janelle Swift (Zinno) '81 is now the District Sales Manager for
Drager Medical Products. She is now working out of New Jersey.
Gilbert Cruz '94 has achieved the following credentials CRTT,
RRT, CPFT, RPFT and P/PNS. He holds the record (we think) for the most professional RC credentials.

Kim Correll '93 is now the Area Manager of Vencare. She is
responsible for providing staff for 17 nursing homes and 1 subacute unit. Her area includes Nebraska, Iowa, and the KC area. Her biggest contract is with a subacute unit. She must provide the entire staff (nursing, respiratory care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, pharmacy, and speech pathology) for a subacute wing of a nursing home in Nebraska.
Heather Davis '96 is now a staff therapist at St. Catherine's Hospital in Garden City, KS. (1/9/97)
Aaron Garton '90 is now the Assistant Administrator of Outpatient Services of Vencare in Baldwin, Wisconsin. Aaron is hiring staff and developing both inpatient and outpatient services for Baldwin Community Hospital. He is starting the inpatient Respiratory Care Department and is also setting up the system of providing outpatient care.
John Hester '82 is now Director of the Pediatric Pulmonary Function Lab at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO. He also supervises KUMC students in the Pulmonary Diagnostic practicum and in the Neonatal practicum.
Patrick McCool '87 completed his MS in Kinesiology at the University of Denver in 1991. Since then he has been directing and managing the Exercise Lab in the Cardiology Department at The Children's Hospital in Denver. He has done extensive research in abnormal exercise physiology in pediatrics to determine medical/surgical intervention ranging from heart/lung transplant to exercise-induced bronchospasm.
Paula Thompson '83 is an instructor for the Respiratory Care program at Johnson County Community College, Overland Park, KS.
Renetta Ramsdell (Wray) '93 is now the Clinical Coordinator
of the Inpatient Respiratory Care Department for Vencor
Hospital of Kansas City.
Mark Zell '92 is the Day Shift Coordinator at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO and supervises the neonatal practicum students from KUMC and MU.
Jerry Houchins '85 owns and runs the only free-standing PFT lab in the state of Kansas, the Salina Sleep and Diagnostic Center.
Dewanda Jones '96 is working the night shift as a staff therapist at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, MO.
Todd Mesenger '92 recently joined ('96) the sales force of Dragger Medical Products.
