Camilla M. Wilson, PT, PhD Establishes Jessie M. Ball and Ruth A. Blanchard PT Faculty Development Fund

Camilla M. Wilson, PT, PhD, along with her husband, Michael T. Wilson, have committed $10,000 to establish the Jessie M. Ball and Ruth A. Blanchard Physical Therapy Faculty Development Fund. The fund at the Kansas University Endowment Association will benefit the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences. Camilla Wilson, who recently received the Allied Health Distinguished Alumnus Award, announced the new fund during her acceptance speech. She said she wanted to do something for the department that would foster and develop the faculty. She also said she wanted to honor both Ms. Ball and Ms. Blanchard, who have been mentors as well as leaders in the department.

Wilson graduated from KU with a bachelor's degree in 1970, a master's degree in 1978 and a doctorate in 1992. She currently chairs the Department of Physical Therapy Education at Wichita State University. Camilla hopes that others will join her by making a gift to honor these two women and help grow the fund in their name. Those interested in supporting this fund should send gifts to the KU Endowment Association for the benefit of the Jessie Ball and Ruth Blanchard Fund, or contact Sandra Eisele of the KU Endowment Association at 913-588-1269 or via email at SEisele@KUEndowment.org.
