| Nalgene animal caging provides running wheels that are high quality and durable. They will resist discoloration and maintain their smooth rotation for years of use. They may be autoclaved. Running wheel turns may be monitored manually using a combination of a Mini Mitter Magnetic Switch and a digital switch counter or automatically using the magnetic switch and the VitalView Data Acquisition System. Rat and mouse size wheels are available. The wheel forms a portion of the lid of the cage, the other portion is formed by a food hopper and water bottle holder. Either size wheel may be configured as the lid for a standard domicile cage or as the lid of a cage with a cut-away bottom which allows for easier cleaning. |
