| The Ettan IPGphor II Isoelecrtic Focusing System performs first dimension isoelectric focusing (IEF) in 2-dimensional (2-D) electrophoresis. The system comprises Immobiline DryStrip gel strips, which contain an immobilized pH gradient (IPG); strip holders, which serve as both and IEF chambers for the IPG strips; and the Ettan IGPphor II unit, which includes a high-voltage DC power supply, solid state temperature control, and can be programmed with up to ten user-defined IEF protocols.
Programmable functions include:
The SE 600 Ruby vertical slab gel electrophoresis unit is intended for protein and nucleic acid electrophoresis under commonly used denaturing and non-denaturing conditions. Up to 28 samples can be compared on a single slab gel. Applications include protein separations, nucleic acid fractionation, and the second-dimension separation of 2-D electrophoresis. First-dimension separation of 2-D protein electrophoresis is performed on Immobiline DryStrip Immobilized pH Gradient Gels using the IPGphor Isoelectric Focusing System. The focused strips are easily transferred to the second-dimension slab gel for size separation. The gel plates are 18 cm wide by 16 cm long. Up to four gels can be run at one time if sandwiches are paired into "club sandwiches." The heat exchanger allows buffer temperature control in the lower chamber. The Trans-Blot cell is a truly versatile tank transfer system. Flexible electrode placement and variable power conditions allow standard or high-intensity transfers of up to three 16 x 20 cm gels or up to twelve mini format gels simultaneously. |
