This is a good guide for every aspect of preparing and delivering a public talk. It's become a bit outdated as it doesn't cover the use of computers and multimedia in the preparation and presentation of talks. Other aspects relating to public presentations are treated thoroughly, and the writing is clear and enjoyable. If your library doesn't have this book, it should.
