The names of the people presenting in each class session are listed below. You are free to rearrange who presents when among yourselves, but each student must (at a minimum) present once early in the term and once later in the term. Aim for making a 10 minute presentation, followed by no more than 5 minutes of questions & answers. You may select any topic for your presentation other than research with which you have been involved in the past or at present. The idea is to develop a new presentation from scratch, rather than polish an existing presentation!
Stuck for ideas? I have posted a list of prior topics on-line. Other sources include publications American Scientist and Scientific American, the Science News section of the New York Times newspaper, and on-line sites. Please try to make the presentation relevant to a general science audience - if you have questions about suitability of topics, feel free to contact me!
