Traveling & Talking . . .

The U.S. is not the center of the universe. At some point you may find yourself preparing to give a presentation in another country. This can be an enjoyable and enlightening experience, but you should be aware of two common pitfalls.

First, slides are slightly different sizes in different countries, particularly in the U.S. and Europe. Naturally, the slots of slide carousels are sized in proportion. This also means that there may more slots in a carousel (if the slides are thinner), or fewer slots (if slides are thicker). If you plan to travel in a foreign country and give presentations, request a carousel appropriate for your slides.

A second pitfall are differences in the line voltages and duty cycles used by different countries. While not a problem for slide presentations, plan accordingly if you will need to show a videotape.
